Steiff Teddy Bears
We sell a selection of Steiff Teddy Bears priced
from £15.
The first jointed toy bear was sold from Richard
Steiff's drawings in 1903. It was bought by an American at the Leipzig Easter
Toy Fair, and he also ordered 3000 more, of the same bear. Some of these ended
up at President Edward Roosevelt's daughter Alice's wedding and the next day
newspaper reports referred to "Teddy's Bears", so the Teddy Bear was born.
